Graduate of the Gubkin State Academy of Oil and Gas with a degree in "Development and operation of oil and gas fields", Candidate of Technical Sciences.
Zhumabai Karagayev has 22 years of work experience in public service and private sector. Over the years, he occupied the positions a number of private companies in Atyrau and Mangystau regions, the Department of Housing and Communal Services, passenger transport and highways of Atyrau Akimat.
He worked as deputy akim of Atyrau city. He held the position of Head of the Department of Public Procurement of Atyrau region, Head of the Department of Energy and Housing of Atyrau region. He held the position of akim of Makat district of Atyrau region and deputy akim of Atyrau region.
